interviewIA Partners with Blind Institute of Technology to Bring Diverse Talent to Its Customers

May 18, 2022

Denver, Colorado - May 18, 2022 interviewIA — the interview platform that empowers hiring companies to make it possible for their recruiters, hiring managers, and interviewers to conduct equitable and data-driven interviews — has partnered with The Blind Institute of Technology (BIT) – who focuses their work on disability advancement and professional development, providing innovative workplace solutions leading to successful and sustainable employment partnerships.

Nearly 70 percent of blind Americans are unemployed. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 25 percent of adults in the U.S. have some type of disability. People with disabilities want to work, but they often find limited opportunities because of their differences and lack of awareness of their capabilities.

Today’s perceptions of people with disabilities often present multiple employment challenges. The Blind Institute of Technology focuses on finding employment opportunities for blind and visually impaired professionals in corporate America, placing qualified talent into positions on par with their education and skill level through networking, education, and workforce development.

“While we solve for fixing the interview process itself, we do not have a direct solution for helping companies source and recruit diverse talent,“ says Ubaldo Ciminieri, CMO & Head of Strategic Partnerships at interviewIA. “Partnering with organizations like BIT brings that recruiting top-of-the-funnel solution together with our interview platform to finally help companies find, and hire, not only the right people, but people from underrepresented groups who represent a truly untapped portion of the available workforce.”

For hiring companies, BIT can help them improve their hiring strategies using technology like interviewIA, while introducing them to pre-qualified candidates who are skilled, dedicated employees and knowledge-based workers with disabilities.

“It is an honor for BIT to collaborate with interviewIA,” says Michael Hess, Executive Director of Blind Institute of Technology. “We believe that with the assistance of interviewIA, we will be able to provide professionals with disabilities the opportunity to interview with a wider range of employers. The possibilities are endless, and we can’t wait to see what careers will be launched from this partnership.”
